I love how Pete is looking at Izzy in the corner of this last shot.

I am still trying to figure out why the video of the girls doing the dance at the sleepover won't load. Hopefully I can figure it out and get the dance number up for everyone.

The Party...a Sleepover!

Oh and what a party it was!

It was my first experience with hosting a sleepover and boy was it fun...well, maybe fun is a little extreme. I smartly (is that a word) hosted the party on a Friday night. My reasoning was that after a week of school, I would have a fighting shot at getting the girls to bed. I also thought parents would appreciate that by Sunday evening all kids should be fully recovered and ready to hit the school week running. Score 1 for mom on good planning!

Score two for mom was having only 4 girls. Izzy plus 3 friends, all whom live within walking distance, made for not too much girl drama and no stress for me should someone wake up and need to go home in the middle of the night. I could literally watch two of the girls walk home from my front door if necessary.

Score three...cute cute cute matching pj's for the girls. Might as well throw in a "score 4" here because the tops are simple tank tops from Old Navy and can be worn to school as they are within uniform guidelines.

Sleep masks were a surprise for even Izzy and who knew girls literally get giddy over sleep masks?!?

Perhaps my biggest "score" of the night was hiring a dance instructor from Izzy's old dance studio to choreograph a routine for the girls from a song of Izzy's choosing. This was by far the BEST money I spent on the party because it allowed me an hour to separate myself from the extremely high decibel level! ...even better was that the moms of the party guests came to share a glass of wine and watch the performance.

After the dance number, the girls watched a bit of the movie Annie and then headed to bed. Asleep by 10:30 and up at 6:15. I didn't get out of bed til 7 so not too bad. After a breakfast of pancakes, donuts (delivered by a party guest's dad at 8:15) and some packing all guests were gone by 10.

Izzy took a 2 hour nap around 3 (we woke her up so she would go to bed) and then asked to go to bed at 8:45. All in all the party was a huge success...loud, but a success!

...I'm fearful of these two in the future...here they are kissing their stuffed animals!

Someone just found out he isn't sleeping in the playroom with the girls. So sad.

She woke up in the greatest mood today...her breakfast request was pancakes with whip cream and strawberries. Lunch will be McDonalds delivered to her at school (she requested that I just drop it off for her and Averie, but not stay because they get to sit at a special two person table) and dinner will be steak and mashed potatoes! All this will be followed up with a cookie cake and presents ;)

100th Day

Today is the 100th day of school for Izzy.

The project requirements were to make a poster using 100 "things" and group them by either 2's, 5's, 10's or 20's.

Here is Izzy's creation...

She used 100 glass beads and made 9 flowers and 1 butterfly.

Izzy wrote this letter to her brother while at school recently.

It says:

I love you my sweet little brother Drew. You can make me mad but no matter how much you do I still love you my sweet little brother Drew.

Kid Funnies

As posted by Pete for his Facebook status:

My boy never stops making me laugh: He was playing one of his games on my iPad while sitting on the bed while I was working on my laptop. Because he is five and is never out of energy, he randomly decided to start jumping up and down on the bed with his legs straddling each side of the iPad as he lands. Recognizing this was a very bad idea, I warned him to stop and that if he breaks the iPad, it would cost us $800 dollars to replace. He stops jumping and looks up....instead of replying with the expected "oh, sorry Dad" he responds "wait, you wasted $800 on this?"

I was playing Donkey Kong Country on Wii with Drew and I told him how good he is at the game and he replied "yeah, I dominated that board and got all the bananas because that is how I role......you should be glad I was born because, if I wasn't, you would've never got past the roller coaster board". Talking smack at 5......

This past weekend Uncle Wes came to town to visit us, as well as attend a black tie event while he was here.

Once he was ready for the event (he didn't get ready at my house) I asked him to send me a picture so I could see how handsome he looked. He sent a picture and Izzy immediately said, "let's see how hot Uncle Wes looks." ...too say I found this a little disturbing would be an understatement! When I showed it to them, Drew said, "He doesn't look hot...but don't tell him that." Izzy said, "normal".

I relayed these messages to Wes and he immediately sent over another picture. The response from the peanut gallery this time was, "he looks handsome, but not hot."

Still not good enough for Wes, so he sent a third picture. After seeing this picture...

Photobucket

Izzy said, "can you just tell him he looks hot now? I don't really think he does, but I'm tired of him sending over pictures!"

Cool Rider

Within minutes of Pete taking Drew's training wheels off his bike, he was able to ride unassisted. Just a few days later he is riding circles around his Mama...literally.

check him out~
