Uncle Andy came to visit! Not only did he come visit, but he flew here, on a plane...well, not a plane but a jet! An F-22 to be more specific.
Pretty snazzy, huh?
Andy flew into Shaw AFB on Friday afternoon and then drove the 2 hours to spend the night with us. All day I had some very excited children. I can't even tell you how many "How much longer til Uncle Andy gets here?" questions I fielded. In fact, Izzy and her friend Berkley spend over 2 hours perfecting dance routines to 3 songs off the Shake It Up cd. Once Andy did arrive he had to sit through a dance recital immediately!
Saturday morning Andy left about 9 to head to the air show and we followed a couple hours later. While Pete saw many air shows as a child, I had never been to one. I thought it was AWESOME (despite the 98 degree temps!)
The kids enjoyed lots of various things...
seeing Uncle Andy dressed in his flight suit and sitting "behind the red rope" - it was way cool when Uncle Andy let them on the other side! Here they took the time to ask about the F-22...how fast it goes, fuel, recent controversy regarding the oxygen, etc.
Snow cones
Funnel cake - which might be my most favorite food EVER! However, Drew likes to tell me that he likes it more and after I declared this one "just okay" he said, "I told you I like funnel cakes the best!"
Of course there were planes to see...
The best seats in the house...
Towards the end of the show, Drew found a pile of ice that kept him quite entertained
And Izzy found a strawberry banana smoothie
We got lucky when Uncle Andy decided to drive back to our house for a second night in a row! After a big breakfast the next morning we decided to take a couple pictures...and it went something like this.
And a little ice cold water torture
We miss you Motley! Stay safe...and we will see you in DC!!!
